What Affects the Value of Your Stock?

No two clearance deals are the same. The price we offer depends on several factors, all of which we assess transparently so you understand exactly how we arrive at our valuation.

Product Category

Electronics and branded goods typically recover more than generic homeware or unbranded clothing. Some categories have stronger resale channels than others, which directly affects what a buyer can offer you.

Condition

Sealed, brand-new stock in original packaging fetches the best prices. Opened boxes, customer returns, and items with damaged packaging are still buyable but at lower rates. We buy stock in any condition — we just price accordingly.

Quantity

Larger lots almost always get a better per-unit price. If you have 10,000 units, we can offer more per item than if you have 50. Bulk deals are more efficient for us to collect, sort, and resell, and we pass that efficiency on to you.

Brand Recognition

Recognised brands sell faster and for more. A pallet of branded electronics will always be worth more than a pallet of unbranded equivalents, because buyers trust the name and the quality behind it.

Seasonality

Timing matters. Christmas decorations in October are worth far more than in February. Garden furniture in spring beats garden furniture in November. Selling at the right time of year can significantly increase what you recover.

Age of Stock

Fresh stock is worth more. Products manufactured or purchased recently hold their value better than stock that has been sitting in a warehouse for two years. Technology depreciates fastest, but even FMCG has shelf life concerns.

Typical Recovery Ranges by Category

These are typical percentages of the original RRP (recommended retail price) that sellers recover when selling clearance stock. Actual offers depend on condition, quantity, brand, and market demand.

Toys20–35%
Beauty & Health15–30%

These ranges are indicative. Every stock lot is unique, and we assess each enquiry individually. Contact us for a precise valuation based on your specific inventory.

What Increases or Decreases Your Stock's Value?

Factors That Increase Value

  • Sealed, original packaging with barcodes intact
  • Branded products from recognised manufacturers
  • Current-season or recently released items
  • Large, uniform lots (same product, same condition)
  • Products with strong online resale demand
  • Full pallets on standard UK pallets, shrink-wrapped
  • Manifested stock with itemised inventory lists
  • Products with valid warranty or within shelf life

Factors That Decrease Value

  • Damaged or missing packaging
  • Untested customer returns with unknown functionality
  • Obsolete technology (old phone models, legacy connectors)
  • Out-of-season stock sold at the wrong time of year
  • Small, mixed quantities with no uniformity
  • Products past their use-by or best-before dates
  • Unbranded or white-label goods with no market recognition
  • Stock with no manifest or product information

How to Maximise What You Get

A few simple steps can help you get a higher offer when selling your stock.

1

Provide a detailed manifest

An itemised list with SKUs, product names, quantities, and condition helps us assess your stock faster and more accurately. Manifested stock almost always gets a higher offer than unmanifested lots.

2

Send clear photos

Photos of the stock, packaging, pallets, and labels give us a much better picture of what we’re buying. Even phone photos are helpful. The more visual information we have, the more confident we can be in our offer.

3

Sell at the right time

Seasonal stock is worth more before its season. If you have Christmas products, contact us in September. Summer stock? Reach out in spring. Timing your sale right can increase your recovery by 10–20%.

4

Sell in bulk where possible

Larger, uniform lots are easier for us to resell and more efficient to collect. If you can consolidate your stock into full pallets rather than loose boxes, you’ll typically get a better price.

5

Act quickly

Stock depreciates over time. Electronics lose value every month. Fashion goes out of season. The sooner you sell, the more you recover. Don’t let stock sit in storage racking up holding costs.
