Do you buy expired food stock?
No. We only buy food and drink stock that is within its best-before or use-by date at the time of collection. Expired food cannot be sold, and buying it is not something we do. If your stock is currently within date but approaching the end of its shelf life, contact us immediately — the sooner you do, the more options we have and the better the offer we can make.
What is the minimum shelf life you will accept?
There is no fixed minimum, but the shelf life remaining directly affects the price we can offer. Stock with six or more months remaining is the easiest to place and commands the best prices. Stock with two to four months remaining is still very buyable but priced to reflect the shorter window. Stock with less than four weeks remaining is difficult to move and we may not be able to help at that stage. Contact us as early as possible — do not wait until you have three weeks left.
Do you buy chilled or frozen food?
No. We buy ambient food only — products that are stored and transported at room temperature. We do not have the cold chain infrastructure to handle chilled or frozen goods and cannot buy them. This includes fresh produce, dairy, chilled ready meals, fresh meat, and frozen products. If your stock requires temperature-controlled storage or transport, it is outside our scope.
Can you buy branded food — will you resell it in a way that damages the brand?
Yes, we buy branded food. We are not a traditional discount retailer, so branded products do not necessarily end up on shelf next to their full-price versions. If you have specific concerns about how branded stock is disposed of — particular channels you want avoided, geographic restrictions, or confidentiality requirements — raise these when you contact us. We can work within reasonable brand protection requirements and are happy to discuss arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
Is there a minimum quantity for food stock?
We prefer to deal in pallet quantities or larger, but we consider smaller lots in certain high-value categories. For ambient food generally, a single pallet or more is the practical minimum for collection to make sense. If you have a smaller quantity but it is a high-value line or a specialist product, describe it to us anyway — we can sometimes accommodate smaller volumes if the product is right.
Do products need to have allergen labelling in English?
Yes. UK food law requires that the 14 major allergens are clearly declared on food labelling in English for products sold in the UK. If your stock has allergen information only in another language, or is missing required allergen declarations, it cannot be sold in the UK food market. We can only buy food stock that meets current UK labelling requirements. If you are unsure whether your stock complies, check before contacting us — non-compliant labelling is a hard barrier.
